The Velatus species is a level 2 (common) breed of frogs. The Latin prefix vela- means "covering; to cover, a veil."
Velatus frogs are marked with a splotchy pattern running across the frog's back and legs the pattern is partially "covering" the base color somewhat like a veil.
This frog was also a playable frog in a previous Nimblebit game, Pocket Frogs Splash.
