The Tessera is a level 29 (Legendary) frog. The Latin definition of tessera is "cube" or "die." A tessera is also an individual tile (usually cube-shaped) that is used in creating mosaics.
The Tessera has an all-over mosaic-like tile pattern on its back. The tiles on the nose of the Tessera are in the secondary color. The color changes in a gradient to the base color in the rear of the frog.
There are several other patterns with gradients, including the Insero, Pluma, Signum, and Arcus.
