How to Win

Uncover all lily pads in the pattern with the same frog. See the winning puzzle image for an example.

The Search game is one of three mini-games which can be played with tamed mature frogs (the others are the Race and Puzzle Game). The Search game was added in version 3.2.0.

Playing the mini-game costs a number of coins dependent on the frog's level. The game is played on a 5 by 5 grid of lily pads which contain hidden frogs arranged in 2 patterns and one yellow present. The patterns for the hidden copies of each frog are listed under the picture of that frog. You have 10 attempts to uncover all the hidden copies of frogs to either win that frog or take coins instead. You can spend a potion to get 5 more attempts. The game will continue to prompt you to continue (at an increasing cost of potions for 5 more attempts each time) until you exit by clicking on the red X in the lower right corner, even if you have revealed all frogs and presents.

The hidden frogs are won automatically once the player uncovers all copies of that frog. However, uncovering a present requires the player to tap on the revealed present again to claim it. Frogs that are not in the user's Froggydex are marked with an asterisk (*). As with Frog Racing and presents, players have the option of selling or keeping the frogs, habitats, and scenery they win. Kept frogs are shipped to the player's mailbox with delivery times based on the frog's level. If the player's mailbox is full, revealed frogs and non-consumables from presents can only be sold for coins. Items sold from the Search game are valued at half their maximum value.

The hidden frogs that are available in the minigame are non-PoP frogs less than or equal to the level of the frog "playing" the game. This includes both Glass and Chroma frogs. Higher level frogs can appear in an increasing number of possible patterns.

Strategy[]

  • Oftentimes, the center lily pads have the highest likelihood of having frogs. Pick center lily pads first to uncover at least one part of the pattern and work out from there.
  • Consider searching for and revealing the more valuable frog first.
  • If the remaining hidden frogs are already included in your Froggydex and are lower level, it may be advantageous to instead look for the hidden yellow present, which may be more valuable. The present can award frogs more valuable than the frog playing the search game.
  • At higher levels, playing the Search game with level 1 Anura frogs (with a 38 coin entrance fee) can be an effective, low-cost and efficient method of obtaining presents (and thus consumables) quickly, with rewards often much more valuable than the obtainable Anura frogs. Because Anura frogs only have one pattern in the Search game, the middle column of lily pads is guaranteed to not have any frogs, making it a good first place to search for presents.

Trivia[]

This game is based on the main game of "Disco Zoo", another one of NimbleBit's games. It is linked also at the bottom of the game screen. Revealed lily pads without any frogs or presents are indicated with water lillies similar to those found in the pond and in Pocket Frogs Splash.
