Presents contain useful items and can be found in The Pond, the Puzzle game, and the Free Gifts item on the main menu. Currently, there are two types of presents, yellow and red. Of the two variations of presents, red presents are rarer, though they net greater rewards. Presents can contain consumables (stamps and potions), frogs, coins, habitat backgrounds, or scenery. Presents on the Free Gifts menu can also contain Experience Points (XPs).

There must be an empty Mailbox slot in order to accept a present that contains a frog or decoration. If the player's mailbox is full when they attempt to claim a present, the item will instead be lost. If they choose to decline a present reward, however, the player will receive a consolation reward of coins equal to 1/4 of the item's value (rounded down). For example, if the player receives a scarab artifact from a present and chooses to decline it instead, they will receive 2,499 coins.

In the Puzzle minigame, the player will receive rewards similar to that of yellow presents upon completing the puzzle successfully. In the search minigame, one yellow present is hidden randomly on the board every round.

The Free Gifts item on the main menu gives a yellow present every 3 hours, and if video offers are enabled on the Settings menu, every 6 hours there are 4 additional presents that can be opened by watching a video each. The last of the 4 presents is a red present. If the contents of the red present is a frog it is delivered to the mailbox immediately, ready to place in a habitat.

The free gifts menu item underwent several changes from versions 3.5.4 to 3.6.1. The current gift system replaces both the previous Daily Gift offer which gave a free item once a day, and the option to watch videos from the Pro Shop on the main menu.

Fireflies act a lot like yellow presents when they are tapped, granting random rewards to the player. However, unlike presents, fireflies can be found in the habitat menu, and they can contain opportunities to unlock bonus daily gifts.

Yellow Presents[]

Yellow Present

Yellow Present

Yellow Presents are more common. Frogs, coins, scenery, stamps and potions will be a random level or value up to the maximums described below in the Red Present section. There is an award for getting two Yellow Presents in one pond trip, "Gifted."

Red Presents[]

Red Present

Red Present

Red Presents are rare and contain high value frogs and decorations, as well as larger amounts of consumables and coins. The higher a player's level the better the contents of a red present. There is an award for getting two Red Presents in one pond trip, "Treasure Hunter."

The pattern for coins, potions and stamps available from red presents in the pond is based on (player level * 0.75). They will contain this value, rounded up, of potions or stamps, or 100 times that amount in coins. For example, a level 21 player could get 16 potions, 16 stamps, or 1575 coins. The pattern for frogs and scenery is a frog at the player's current level or decoration equivalent, up to the highest available level. Red presents from the Free Gift video ads are currently capped at the max frog level (36) if the player's level is higher than that. Free gifts currently seem to be based on the player's level.

Changes in value of Presents[]

The pattern for coins, potions, and stamps for red presents has changed many times over the recent releases of the game. Previous to version 3.6.0 players at levels above the highest frog level would get half the value of coins, potions or stamps of their level. This was changed to be capped at the highest available frog level, currently 36, so the best gifts possible were 18 stamps or potions, 1800 coins, a level 36 frog, or scenery worth +36 happiness points. With version 3.6.1 red gifts in the pond reverted to being based on the players level and continue to increase beyond 36. Red gifts in the video ads seem to still be capped at level 36. Free gifts seem to have changed again to be based on the player level and now at 75% instead of 50%.

Trivia[]

  • Upon entering the Pond, it is possible for the player's frog to spawn on a lilypad containing a present. If this happens, the reward pop-up will appear immediately after the pond loads.
  • It is also possible to land on a lilypad that has both a wild frog and a present on it. If this happens, the player will be met with the present reward screen first, before being asked to breed with the wild frog.
  • It is possible to only receive a single coin from a yellow present, though this is fairly rare due to how the rewards are randomized.
