The Froggydex is a directory feature that tracks all frogs a player has ever collected in the game. The froggydex can be accessed from the main menu as an icon resembling an iPad. As the game progresses, this icon will show the player's percentage of froggydex completion, rounded up/down to the nearest percent.
The Froggydex Layout[]
The Froggydex is organized in order by breed, primary color, then secondary color.
Selecting the Froggydex icon brings you to the main display. At the top of the screen, the player's total amount of unique frogs collected is shown, compared to the current total amount. The rest of the screen displays the list of discovered breeds, sorted by level. The player must have discovered at least one frog in a certain breed in order for it to be shown. For each section, the screen shows a green albeo frog of the depicted breed, as well as the breed name, the amount of frogs the player has discovered of that breed, and the total percentage the player has completed of that breed.
Selecting any entry will then bring you to the primary color display. The center top display shows the number of collected frogs for this breed out of the 368 possible combinations (there are 23 different primary colors, with 16 secondary colors for each). Below that is the full list of primary colors, sorted by rainbow order. Each separate entry shows the name of the primary color, an albeo frog with that primary color, the number of frogs in that color the player has collected, and the total completion percentage of that color. The left side shows that same information as the percentage of frogs collected.
Selecting any entry will then send you to the secondary color menu. Similarly to before, the top center of the screen shows the amount of frogs they have collected for that primary color. Below that is the full list of secondary colors, sorted by rainbow order. For each listing, the frog's name and appearance are shown, as well as a 'clone' button to the right.
IF a frog has yet to be discovered by the player, then only those three things will be shown on the screen, and the clone button will be greyed out. However, if the player has discovered that particular frog, the list updates to show the frog's speed and stamina stats, maximum value, and allows the option to clone the frog. A player can clone a previously discovered frog for 10 times its maximum value, which will then be shipped to the player's mailbox.
Entries are filled for new frogs when they are bred or moved from the mailbox to a habitat. Players that are unsure of if they bred a new frog (or frog they want) can check the Froggydex to see if that particular frog was discovered, instead of wasting potions on eggs. Whenever a possible new frog appears in the game, either in gifts, the breeding menu, in games, or found wild, they will have an asterisk (*) next to their name.
The red X in the lower right corner is used to return to the previous menu. The current scroll location in the breed list is remembered between visits to the Froggydex. When switching between primary colors for a breed, the scroll location is remembered between color choices until the display is backed out to the breed list.
Goals[]
One common, but difficult, goal in the game is to complete all entries in the Froggydex. There are currently over 40,000 possible combinations of breeds and colors of frogs. Breeding frogs in a methodical way to fill in entries in the Froggydex is often called dexing. See Breeding Strategies for hints on efficient ways to do this.
Cloning frogs from the Froggydex is useful when trying to breed a particular color combination of a frog for Awards or Weekly Sets. High level frogs are very expensive to clone, so one strategy is to clone a low level frog of the right primary and secondary colors and then breed it with a frog of the desired breed from a habitat.
What does the asterisk (*) after a frog name mean?[]
An asterisk (*) next to a frog name denotes that that frog is not in the user/player's Froggydex. The asterisk is useful when trying to complete the Froggydex, so the player does not have to continue to go to the Froggydex every time they want to see if they have a frog or have bred the frog they wanted.
History[]
The Froggydex was added in version 1.0.2 of the game.
